In 1988 Fisher-Price introduced a new school, the #2550 Little People School. This school base has built-in desks in the classroom and a drop chute beside the teacher's desk that allows the students to slide down to the playground. The playground is a separate piece that attaches to the side of the school base. The playground slides under the classroom when not in use. It features a permanently attached curved slide, see-saw, and balance beam. The school roof has a scrolling alphabet (which was omitted in 1990), the side has a clock with movable hands, and the front wall of the school folds down to a chalkboard.
